Improving the primary health care in Iran: a policy brief

Background: Primary healthcare (PHC) is the best method to provide primary for people, and most efficient effective way achieve improve a high level of health in any society. Failure pay attention PHC low-quality services can lead an increase various diseases, consequently higher number death toll society, which would cause economic damages. Iran received lot after revolution 1979. In PHC, network was established throughout country. With development Islamic Republic Iran, causes have decreased, due infectious pregnancy, childbirth problems also decreased. Despite vast achievements recent years, enough has not been paid its reconstruction consecration. Lack sufficient financial resources, non-implementation family doctors cities executive doctors, lack human education students sector, their students’ interest learning activities this field, structural administrative are some existing challenges. Results present study suggest that policymakers need invest more order indicators, reduce patient admissions hospitals, make appropriate use limited resources. Using infrastructure already exists sector strengthening play important role reducing household expenses; also, position doctor functions be properly implemented
